Welcome
I am wrapping up my PhD in the MIT / WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography, as a member of the WHOI Deep Submergence Laboratory and the MIT EECS department (Course 6).
I research autonomous marine robotics, particularly communication, networking and reliable command of multiple submerged and surface-bound marine vehicles. Specific topics of interest include data compression and networking for unreliable channels, governance and coordination of multiple vehicles, human-computer interfaces for autonomous underwater vehicles, machine vision, and geodesy.
While at WHOI as a PhD student I have been one of two primary software developers responsible for the SeaBED AUV platform, currently numbering 8 vehicles worldwide. I have significant ocean-going experience with deep sea vehicles, including under-ice operation in both polar regions.
My advisor is Dr. Hanumant Singh at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
You may contact me through my profile in the WHOI directory.
